About Technology
The goal of the secondary voltage regulation in switching stations is to hold desired voltage (400kV, 220kV) on all bus-bars of the switching station and to hold the flow of wattles current through transformer. The importance of these requirements grew up in the Czech Republic recently in connection with interconnection of the Czech electrification system with the European system UCPTE (Union pour la Co-ordination de la Production et du Transport de l´Electricité).
Voltage and wattles current control is carried out either by changing generator excitation in power stations that feed the switching station or by switching transformer taps in the switching station.
