TRACTION MOTORS CONTROLLING
Modular control unit of asynchronous traction motors TR-1
TR-1 is modular traction control unit for controlling DC , asynchronous traction motors and auxiliary motors. The ruggedized 6U rack can contain up to four RG units sharing up to six I/O boards. RG unit is set of 6U boards, I/O boards are of 3U size. Each RG unit is intended for control of one or two motors. RG unit directly controls power switching components of various types as IGBT, IGCT, thyristors . Controlled components are connected by optical cables. Hardware protection of switching components is inbuilt in each RG unit.
Communication with upper level system - CAN bus (CANopen) or MVB bus
Diagnostics - a separate CAN bus reserved for external diagnostic device (PC
based)
Connection of all I/O and external communication: front panel connectors
