Completion of renovation of Hall E at KS01

The SAT tests of the project H2356 - Renovation of Hall E at KS01 were successfully completed on 19 September. The project contractor was a consortium of suppliers where the largest volume of work was provided by UniControls a.s. and ČKD PRAHA DIZ.

Open House Day at DP hl. m. Prahy

26th September 2012

DP hl. m. Prahy (Prague Public Transport Company) organised the Open House Day on 22 September 2012. In the Zličín depot, UniControls presented the smart dispatching system and the train control and monitoring system for the 81-71M vehicles.

The InnoTrans 2012 fair

24th September 2012

On 18-21 September 2012, UniControls took part in the InnoTrans 2012 Trade Fair held in Berlin, Germany. More than 2,400 exhibitors from 45 countries have presented their products and services at this event this year. Many negotiations were held there, both at our stand no. 234 in Hall 6.2 and during other meetings. We believe that our participation was very useful.

ELM-901 Electricity Meter Certification

29th August 2012

The UniControls company has completed the development and all tests for the ELM-901 (ELM-101) electricity meter and has successfully finished the certification process at the Czech Metrology Institute (ČMI) accredited testing laboratory. The ELM-901 electricity meter is now a specified meter for commercial measurement with the EC type test certificate number “TCM 221/12-4970”. The certification was carried out according to the Measuring Instruments Directive (“MID”), which means that the certificate is valid all over Europe.

Successful completion of the IRIS v.2 recertification audit

30th June 2012

On 22nd June 2012 the UniControls Company received the opinion of the auditor in regard to the successful completion of the IRIS v. 2 recertification audit. The audit did not discover any nonconformity. Thereby an approximately six-month period of preparation was concluded. The recertification was conducted by the world-famous company, Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) Inc.

Reconstruction of HDV series 242

25th April 2012

Successful execution of the tests on the track circuit. On Sunday, 23rd April 2012 an important stage of the project entitled "Modernisation of HDV series 242" was successfully concluded. Tests that were a pre-condition for the delivery of the first refurbished vehicle to the customer for a trial run were successfully carried out on the track circuit in Cerhenice. We give our thanks to all the partners and staff who are involved in the implementation of this project and without whose dedicated approach a success of this nature would not have been attainable.

Development of a new multimedia system for railway vehicles

In the spring of 2012 the UniControls company received a grant from the MIT for a technology development project entitled mm-TRAIN – a Multimedia Information System for trains based on SOA. The aim of the project is to develop a new generation of information systems for passengers, based on new technologies. The project is planned for the period between 2012 and 2014 and will be developed in cooperation with experts from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Prague’s Charles University.

Reconstruction of Hall E at the KS01 compressor station

15th December 2011

During December 2011 a contract was signed with the Slovenský plynový priemysel Company for the reconstruction of Hall E of the KS01 compressor station located in Velké Kapušany. As part of this supply, automatic control for three electric aggregates providing 25MW of power and related operational units will be put into operation.

Information system for DMU 120 vehicles from Pesa Bydgoszcz

14th November 2011

In the second half of 2011 the UniControls company signed a contract with the Pesa Bydgoszcz company for the supply of an information system for 120 DMU cars, which will be delivered to the Czech Railways, and subsequently operational in the Pilsen, Karlovy Vary, Ústí and Zlín Regions. A total of 31 of these two-piece motor units will be delivered. Passengers should be able to take a ride on the first of these in autumn of this year.

Information system for RS1 vehicles from Stadler

11th April 2011

In the first half of 2011 a contract with the Stadler company was signed for the supply of the information system for the RegioShuttle RS1 vehicles which are being delivered to Czech Railways for use in the Vysočina and Liberec Regions. In the autumn of last year the first vehicle was accepted for use, and now the delivery of the entire consignment is continuing gradually. In total 33 of these low-floor railcars will be delivered.
