In recent weeks the tests of the Diesel-electric locomotive of 741 series (original 742 renumbered due to higher weight) was completed successfully on the circuit in Cerhenice. The locomotive technology is controlled by the Unicontrols distributed system, which, beside basic control functions, provides for WTB communication for the control of connected vehicles, CAN communication for the diagnostic display, antislip and anti-skid protection, and cooperation of electrodynamic and additional pneumatic brake depending on current braking force.

UniControls has won the category „Best Medium Company“ (exporters with up to 250 employees and turnover up to CZK 1.5 billion) of the prestigious DHL HSBC Export Prize, which is organized under the auspices of the Czech Trade government agency.

On 25 March 2009 UniControls started test operation of the power measurement system on the locomotive of the 230 series of the ČD Cargo company. The system is measuring actually consumed power, and is used for precise and independent accounting of the vehicle's power consumption.
