PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The VC-CPU2 is a second generation vehicle control unit (VCU) processor card. The VC-CPU2 is a 6U module built on the MPC5200 platform and includes an auxiliary communication module for MVB and CAN buses.

The VC-CPU is an auxiliary module used in the redundant VCU. Redundancy is provided by using two VC-CPU2s and the VC-CPU redundancy control unit. The VC-CPU monitors the status of the processor cards and if the VC-CPU detects a failure of active cards, it then switches to the backup (inactive) module. Redundancy control logic is hardwired.

All system SW components are optimized for industrial applications. The core is the Linux-based operating system. Soft PLC UniCON executes application programs developed in UniCAP. The built-in web server provides easy browser-based configuration, SW update ans system diagnostics, and the Monitoring and Diagnostic system (MDS) ensures collection of diagnostic data from any device in the network.
